Coaching Versus Counseling

What is a Coach

(1) Degree Requirements: No degree requirements are needed to become a coach. When searching for a Coach, be sure to interview them based on their past success with coaching clients in the area that you are seeking services for.
(2) Services: Offer emotional support, Services are Confidential, Coaches motivate and create confidence in their clients, Holds the client accountable for reaching their goals and Helps the client dissect and resolve the problem(s).
(3) Fee for service: Services are offered usually on a private pay fee scale. Services are not reimbursable by insurance providers.

What is Counseling

(1) Degree Requirements: Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Social Workers have to obtain a Master’s Degree; Psychologist earn a Doctorate Degree in Psychology Psy.D. or Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D.; and a Psychiatrist attends Medical School and specializes in Psychology.

(2) Service: Therapy is well-known for problem-solving techniques that address symptoms resulting from Anxiety, Depression and other Mental Health Disorders. Services are Confidential and is aimed at helping clients handle emotional instability and address functional impairments (e.g. mental health problems that results in problems with school, interpersonal relationships and/or work).

(3) Fee for service: Some services will be reimbursed through that clients medical insurance if they are diagnosed with a mental health disorder. Otherwise, the client will be responsible for a private pay fee established on the outset of treatment.
